A Swinging Fundraiser!

It was a superb evening of musical entertainment at the Quays Theatre, Lowry Centre Manchester on February 10th. Bobby Kemp put on a show that had the audience swinging along with the Tony Greenwood Big Band sound. The fund raising event was organised to support saving the beautiful Grade 2 listed Theatre Royal Hyde.

Sailors Beware members were in the audience to enjoy the show and support the cause. Grand Shiek, Graeme Green went onstage with his Shiekess Lesley, to present a cheque for £250 just before a magical rendition of 'Honolulu Baby' that Bobby had commissioned especially for the show. It was superb to hear the big band accompaniment with Bobby playing a ukulele and sporting a bowler loaned by Grand Loco Geoffrey Green for the night. It was certainly the highlight of the evening for the Sons.
