Red
Noses and Raffles
A
brace of Sailors were recently invited by The Austin Group Building Consultants
to present a Red Nose Day event at AstraZeneca in Macclesfield.
The event
took place on Friday 13th March 2009 and consisted of a talk and film
show given by Graeme Green, Grand Sheik of Tent 262, plus a musical
tribute to the boys from Bobby Kemp. The show was attended by both
Austin and Astra employees who are currently working on a joint venture
to construct a new three storey facility on the site.
The hour and half event was well received with much merriment and laughter
from the assembled audience who were full of stories about their favourite
films remembered from childhood which still hold a special place in their
hearts.
A fish a
chip lunch was enjoyed by all during the performance of Honolulu Baby
performed by Bobby, resplendent in a multi-coloured lei, which was then followed by
a raffle. All too soon it was time for the happy gathering to return to
their day jobs putting the (Finishing Touch) to the building rising above
the Silk town of Macclesfield.
The event
raised over £350 towards the Comic Relief appeal. |
